Building on hundreds of years of experience in water management, the Dutch water sector is taking its global leadership to the next level by launching the Holland Water Challenge programme.

The programme aims to establish a multi-national platform through which Dutch companies and international universities collaborate to identify and develop innovative solutions to global and local delta and water challenges. In achieving this, the programme meets several key objectives of the Dutch water sector: to stimulate open innovation, to inspire and attract young talent and to develop sustainable solutions.

The Challenge
The format of the Holland Water Challenge is a competition for graduate students and young faculty. On the basis of real-life case studies presented by the Dutch companies, research institutes and universities, the participants are challenged to propose innovative and practical solutions. The proposals and presentations are judged by a committee of international water experts.

Community
The Holland Water Challenge is supported by a community platform, which is called BlueSpring. BlueSpring offers participating students and companies a place to set-up personal profiles, share information through discussions, post announcements and connect with peers around the world.

Program 2011
In 2011, the Holland Water Challenge has two editions: in China and Singapore, with further editions planned for Australia, Brazil and India in 2012/2013. Follow the links to see how you can participate!
